Bio / Statement

I grew up in Illinois and spent the first part of my career in Chicago at an editorial boutique with offices around the country, which allowed me to work in just about every major market. I’ve been freelance since 2014 and am currently based in Dallas.

As an editor I’ve worked with agencies, directors, and brands on everything from national campaigns to VR shorts to arena triptychs to Instagram stories. 

As a voice actor, well… same. Plus video games and TV narration. 

Additionally, I’ve recently rediscovered a childhood love of getting behind a camera. Lots to learn yet but I’m making nice progress: my most recent short was accepted into an Oscar-qualifying film festival.

 

Whether I’m editing a comedy spot, performing a dramatic voiceover, or creating a short doc, I focus on finding as much truth and emotional resonance as I can. 


When beginning any project, my favorite approach is to set my experience aside—keeping it within arm’s reach—and reassume the uncluttered, curious mind of a beginner. Not knowing that something can’t be done is a superpower and leads to surprises. 

Creating multiple versions isn’t an obligation to me… it’s fun to challenge the material and see how many different paths the story can take, even if sometimes the main difference might be an alternate music track. I think sound is as just important as image, so I like to present sound design and music options very early in the process.

As durations and attention spans shrink and AI use grows, I continue to fight for the moments of honest, genuine humanity that make stories worthwhile to us. 


Techy stuff: I primarily use Adobe creative suite and DaVinci Resolve. My home studio is set up for remote sessions for edit, color, finish, or a broadcast-quality VO record via SourceConnect. I’m also mobile and happy traveling wherever I’m needed.
